Les Petits Bonbons By Laura Mercier Luxurious Baked Eye Colour Palette

3:45 pm

I have never dabbled in Laura Mercier products before, just admired them from afar, and I cannot imagine a more exciting introduction to the brand then the limited edition baked eyeshadow palette,
30 stunning colours housed in a beautiful glossy wooden box, when I spotted it in Selfridges at half price I knew it had to be mine!

The packaging is so dressing-table worthy, the box is heavy and well made, it opens up to reveal a huge mirror, and the shadows themselves resemble colourful bonbons. They are arranged in five rows from lightest to darkest, which I find makes a pallete look more appealing and easier to use. There is a good mixture of matt and shimmer shades, and I say shimmer because they are in no way gritter-glitter but superbly refined, the lighter shades highlight really well and give the most glowing, halo-like effect. I find that the best way to use them is as a colour wash  over the eyelids, they look brilliant layered to create new shades, and they can also be used foiled/wet to intensify the colour. Some of the shades are extremely difficult to photograph because they are so complex, such as Malachite and Bronze Opal, it is hard to show the true colour in one shot because they are so multidimensional.

First Row Silver - Greys

Crystal, Shale, Slate, Graphite, Galaxy and Asphalt.

Second Row -  Blues

Thanks for reading, I'm off to swoon at my baked Palette. :-)
