Illamasqua Blush Up Brush

I have been lusting after the Illamasqua Blush Up Brush for a good while now, and my darling husband bought it me as a birthday present (and let me have it early) so I am just sharing my thoughts with you guys.

It is unique in it's style and I do not have anything like it in my collection. The bristles are synthetic so it is cruelty free, it is soft and does not shed. The handle has a sleek glossy-black finish, with the name and gothic Illamasqua logo printed on it, which I love.

It is designed to fit under your cheekbone, so in effect you sweep the blusher up and across, creating a graduated contour and very dramatic look. I think this helps define and slim the face.
I have also used it with a matt brown contour colour and it works very well. It is best used when you have plenty of time, because to achieve the required look you have to build the colour up slowly and you must have sufficient time to blend up and outwards. The brush is very densely packed and it picks up alot of colour so go lightly. This brush may not suit a make-up newbie or someone who wants a five minute makeup routine, but if you are looking for super dramatic and defined cheekbones (and you are a blush-a-holic, like yours truly) then this will be a fab edition to your collection.
