Urban Decay Gwen Stefani Eyeshadow Palette

9:43 pm

To say I was excited when I saw that Gwen Stefani was collaborating with Urban Decay to design a new eyeshadow palette is a bit of an understatement and I absolutely couldn't wait to get my mitts on it. There is 15 colours in the palette 12 new shades and 3 existing shades. The packaging is absolutely stunning in gold black and white and on the inside there's a  nod to the No Doubt song "Magic's in the music" written on the mirror. The new shades have all been named by Gwen herself and that plus the three shades create her idea of the perfect palette.

  • Blonde (Because Gwen is) Pale beige with pink iridescent shift
  • Bathwater (A No Doubt song) Pale beige with gold pearl
  • Skimp (A favorite of Gwen’s from the UD line) Pale nude satin
  • Steady (After the No Doubt album “Rock Steady”) Medium rose with metallic gold shift
  • Punk (Music genre Gwen got started in) Reddish brown matte
  • Baby (An homage to her fashion line L.A.M.B.) Cool metallic rose
  • Ananheim (Where Gwen grew up) Light taupe-brown matte
  • Stark (Another of Gwen’s favorite shades) Nude-pink matte
  • Zone (After the song “Danger Zone”) Medium brown matte
  • Serious (Another of Gwen’s songs) Smoky gray with iridescent floating pearl
  • Pop (Like her current music) Pale coral with iridescent sparkle
  • Harajuku (One of her style influences) Metallic blue-pink with iridescent micro-shimmer
  • Danger (Because we like a little danger) Deep metallic royal blue with blue micro-sparkle
  • 1987 (The year No Doubt formed) Bright metallic yellow-gold
  • Blackout (Gwen’s favorite black shade) Blackest black matte
Formula wise the mattes in the palette are buttery smooth and really blendable and the shimmers are really nice too. The only shade that is hard to work with is Pop which is very glittery the performance of this might be improved with some Mac Fix+
I think this palette is really nice and it contains everything you need to create a multitude of looks from day to night. I also like that there is 3 matte mid toned browns in the middle row which are fantastic crease shades as a starting point for creating a blended and gradient effect. If you are tempted then be quick because it is limited edition, the palette is available at all Urban Decay stockists including FeelUnique website here.

Yes I  am pretending my new palette is a phone!
